The old canopy we were using will not be put back up for 2026. It has served us well for many years but it is time to retire it. Back between the 2024-2025 season, the executive had approved a new canopy design that I proposed, and it would have been purchased and installed in 2025. Due to the unexpected fees we incurred in 2025, we opted to postpone the purchase. Since the old canopy is now dead, we are forced to revisit this purchase now. I have revised the original canopy design from 2024 to reduce the number of fittings and therefore its cost. Please see the attachment for the 2026 version. Note that this style of canopy (versus typical canopies) is designed to make events like Karaoke and watching bands better as it kind of resembles a bandshell and things like stage lighting can be attached to provide better ambiance than a typical canopy. Please let me know if I can proceed with purchasing the fittings now, and then get the pipe for the fittings in the early spring. We'll sub assemble the frame at my house, cutting the pipe to length, etc.. so that final assembly at the park goes smooth.
